The Marsh has claimed another victim(Auchenbach has lost a rod and reel), and this evening I will be scuba diving to try and recover it. Everybody pray for me, between zero visibility and recreational boat traffic, it should be a real treat. Maybe I'll get lucky and find it. Stay tuned for more details

Oh Boy! I hope that wasn't his Cabela's Drop Shot rod and reel. How's he gonna catch fish without it?

    Ok,

The anticipation is killing me. How did the recovery effort go? I saw the lake level rose considerably. What't the result?

Candid Camera must have been in the woods, filming somewhere, somehow. Bottom line is he's still out a rod and reel. Dove at 29 feet, with zero visibility, and could not see a thing, which makes it nearly impossible to recover anything. Water was 88 at the surface and 76 at 29 feet. FYI, where we were diving there was 2-3 feet of slimey, sticky, gooey, muck on the bottom. I stuck my arm in it, and it was way above my elbow. My flashlight was worthless, too much algae and other junk preventing light penetration. We ended up losing an anchor and half of my dive flag during the failed attempt. I tried, I attempted my good deed for the day.

Then afterwards, we attempted to fish for a while. That was mistake number two. We fished all deeper water, and had 1 small LM. Tried dropshot, grub, tube, spinnerbait, jig, and so on, maybe I need to retire from fishing.

No, you should just retire from fishing Blue Marsh in July/August. Too bad about the rod and reel. Maybe all the fish are hiding in that muck on the bottom!

How about giving it another try with one of those large recovery magnets they sell designed just for that purpose. They say they can lift a small outboard motor.

    Hey Mike:

Retire from fishing, that's what I did and I have less stress and no sunburn. What a feeling, no getting up at 3 AM and driving 3 hours to catch nothing, get a broken down boat, waste time and gas.

    Oh by the way!

I have a boat for sale.

Whats the sale price? Do any burgers come with the boat? Anyone want to buy a daily number lottery ticket for the month of November? ONLY TEN BUCKS, it's a bargain. Looking forward to Champlain, hope we still have a room. The Stone House has been changing rooms, irregardless of how early you reserved. I think this will be the last time I stay at that facility. Probably will have some spiritual drinks along with me at Champlain, could be some interesting Happy Hours. With the other tournament group staying there, it probably will be a little crowded and challenging. Will have to manage my attitude with cold drinks and spiritual rehydration. Wolfie needs some for his hip, Devine needs some because of himself, I need lots because of Blackcloud, and Darryl will need some just to put up with the rest of us.Oh, the joys of tournament directing!!!!! OK, enough of the politics, hope everyone has a safe trip up, and has a good time.

Howdy, Stranger!
