The winner of the “Bag of Baits” raffle at the Greater Phila. Sportsman’s show was ticket number - 469147 and the holder of the winning ticket was RUSS WIDMAN of Glenside, PA. Thanks to all that participated. Monies from the raffle and booth sales will be used for projects directly related to improving the fishery at our local lake, Blue Marsh.

Members of the Berks Bassmasters participated with the Liberty USO at a fund raiser at Cabelas near Hamburg, PA. on Veteran’s Day 11/11/11. Pictured are just a few volunteers that stopped by during the event that day. We were able to raise $1486.10 for the Philadelphia Liberty USO at the event and everyone had a great time Hey,”Nice Shirts!”

Berks Bassmasters Spring Buddy Winners!

Berks Bassmasters club members Kyle “Bronzeback” Esterly (L) and Duane “BlackCloud” Schaeffer (R) placed 1st. in the recent Blue Marsh Open Buddy Tournament at Blue Marsh Lake. Their team weight totaled 11.20 lbs. Also Barry High another club member and Craig Stout won lunker, a largemouth, weighing 4.63 lbs. A total of 26 boats fished the open tournament and a total of 22 fish were caught (8LM/14SM)

Rich Rushing places 5th at PA Championship

One of our own, Rich Rushing, has placed 5th in the Co-Angler division at Lake Chautauqua NY. The event was held Oct. 8th and 9th. Three other club members had qualified to fish the PA Championship, Paul Long, Lloyd Reinert, and Bucky Palm.

Berks Bassmasters honored by PFBC

A Certificate of Recognition and Award of Merit was presented to Berks Bassmasters by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission during a recent structure project at Blue Marsh Lake. The award recognized the club’s efforts during 30 years of being in the Adopt-A-Lake program having placed 827 structures covering 63 acres in the lake over the past 30 years.
